An Inconvenient Truth
Please see this movie. I was fortunate to see Al Gore present this lecture live at the Milken Institue Global Conference in LA last year -- a thoroughly engrossing, utterly compelling plea to face the music about Global Warming. I shook his hand afterwards, but was rendered speechless by his presentation and all I could manage to say was "thank you."

finally saw the movie today 7/2 in a full theater in East Village, NYC. Of course he was preaching to the converted but it was great to see so many people there. I've always loved gore and he made me proud that I almost exclusively get around on my bike - including a ride friday from midtown to riverdale, bronx (not so sure I'll be able to do THAT regularly!). lets re-elect him!
I also would like to see him win again. When did he start looking like Atticus Finch?
Still inspired and terrified from the movie, I'm exploring an energy option through greenstart where you pay extra to have your house powered totally by renewable energy sources such as wind, water, sunlight, and landfill methane gas. You actually get the same electricity as everyone else, but the power company agrees to calculate your energy expenditure and purchase that amount of extra energy from renewable sources.
I'm still trying to understand the nuts and bolts of it -- and how much it will cost. (An unforunate reality in the decision-making process.) I'll definitely post about it as I learn more.
